REPLACING OUTER TAIL PANEL SECTION
Read contents of Body, General. Remove or cover those vehicle components in the repair area which are susceptible to heat or dust.
Spot-weld bonding is used on this vehicle. Observe specific procedure.
Use only approved spot-welding apparatus for repairs! Following new body parts are required:

Open weld joints (1).
Open brazed joints (2).

Carry over the work step shown symmetrically to the other side of the vehicle.
Open weld joints in areas (1).
Open adhesive bonds in areas (2).
Remove rear trim.
Installation:
Replace glued connection in areas (2) with plug welding.
Adjust rear lid lower section to fit before welding.

Installation:
Insert inner rear trim (1) at an angle and bring into position.
Adjust lower rear lid section to fit before welding new parts.
