BMW X5: Removing And Installing/Replacing Control Unit For Air Supply Unit
IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on protection against
electrostatic damage (ESD
protection).
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove ignition key.
- Disconnect battery negative lead.
- Remove flap in luggage compartment panel on right.
Lift back insulating mat (1).

Disconnect plug connection (1).
Unlock catch (2) and remove control unit (3).

After installation:
- Replacement only: Carry out programming/coding. See CODING & PROGRAMMING
- Replacement only: Carry out ride-height-calibration.
REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING TRANSVERSAL-ACCELERATION
SENSOR
IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on protection against
electrostatic damage (ESD
protection).
IMPORTANT: Do not kink floor panelling under any circumstances!
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove right front seat.
- Lift carpet and fold back to one side.
- Remove floor inlay.
Release nuts (1), disconnect plug connection (2) and remove lateral
acceleration sensor (3).
Installation:
Replace self-locking nuts.
Tightening torque 37 14 7AZ, see 37 14 ELECTRIC COMPONENTS

After installation:
- If necessary, carry out initial Dynamic Drive operation.

After completing work:
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove ignition key.
- Remove trim panel for instrument panel at bottom right.
Release screw (1) and fold down fuse box.
